Building a Place for our Neighbours

Hi! We’re Jeff and Toni, Owners and Fellow Neighbours of Yours Conveniently. There are always new faces, so we wanted to share a bit about who we are and how we got here.

While we’re sharing our story here, don’t be shy about sharing your own fond memories of this beloved place in your neighbourhood. Stories that happened before we opened, and in and around the neighbourhood are also welcome!

Owning a convenience store wasn’t exactly what we had envisioned for ourselves, but when the traditional convenience store space in our neighbourhood was up for lease, we seized the opportunity to share our passions with the neighbourhood.

We wanted to create a place that reflected who we are, what we love, and what we’re good at—and a place we felt our neighbours, near and far, would feel comfortable to visit, connect, and shop.

Believe it or not, we began planning the opening of our shop in 2019. We persevered through a pandemic, and were able to open our doors in May of 2021.

A key piece to our story is the transformation of the space. We even did a lot of the demolition ourselves. Here are a few before and after photos.

Over the past few years supporting local has become more relevant than ever. That said, we’ve always thought supporting local was important, even before it became cool . Since the inception of our business, we envisioned showcasing local wares from makers and artisans. Our appreciation for the artisan process and Canadian-made products is why we source unique offerings , gourmet meals, quality coffee, and offer over 50 local and Canadian brands , with more to come! By supporting us, you’re supporting our small business and many other small businesses.

Connecting with the community has been a joy. One of the ways we’ve loved doing that, while also supporting local small business, is by hosting maker pop-ups.
